Job Description Job Description Job Title: Forklift Operator and Material Handler Contract Type - Contract to Hire | Compliance - Drug Test Background Check required Job Description: An overview of your responsibilities: Operate a forklift to move products and materials in a safe and efficient manner. Load and unload trucks, containers, and storage areas, ensuring proper stacking and storage of materials. Transport materials to and from designated areas, following safety protocols and warehouse procedures. Inspect forklifts daily to ensure they are in good working condition and report any issues to the maintenance team. Assist with inventory management by moving stock, taking counts, and ensuring accurate records. Follow all safety guidelines, including wearing the proper personal protective equipment (PPE). Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including regular housekeeping tasks in storage areas. Assist with the preparation of materials for production and shipping as needed. Report any damaged materials or safety hazards to supervisors immediately. Adhere to company policies and procedures regarding safety, equipment usage, and material handling. Top Skills: Forklift: Experience operating forklifts in a busy environment with a minimum of 5 years experience. Material Handling: experience moving pallets, and equipment and working on a manufacturing floor or busy warehouse. Additional Skills & Qualifications: 5 plus years of experience working on a forklift (Nice to Have: Certified forklift trainer) Experience working in a warehouse or manufacturing floor where people are abundant Excellent safety record on the lift. Work Environment: The work environment requires the ability to lift and/or move up to 35 pounds and involves standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, or crouching as needed. Employees may need to climb portable ladders and will be required to use Personal Protection Equipment. The role requires good manual dexterity and multi-limb coordination.
