Generally, the PT will conduct assessments, build and execute effective treatment plans, and educate students to reduce pain, improve movement, and restore function. Responsibilities for this role include: • Partner with the district as a member of a collaborative team to help students restore and maintain their physical functions. • Screen and evaluate students referred to Physical Therapy treatment. • Appropriately collect data, report findings. • Diagnose movement dysfunction and create personalized treatment plans to help patients reduce pain, improve movement, and restore function. • Provide evidence-based direct and consultative therapy services as required. • Maintain accurate documentation and billing per district and state standards. • Participate on a collaborative team and maintain clear communication with teachers, district staff, and families regarding student treatment. Required Qualifications Physical Therapist, School NY License Preferred Qualifications • Graduate from an accredited Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) program • Pass the National Physical Therapy Examination (NPTE) • Active Physical Therapy (PT) license in NY • Clear, articulate communication skills • Ability to explain results to a varied audience • Candidates with previous school experience a plus • Completion of a criminal record and background check Facility Location Set along the historic Erie Canal, the "Canal Community" of Newark is a quiet, small town with a rich historical heritage.
