EPIC CHARTING EXPERIENCE REQUIREDUnit5 North Med/Tele Ortho and Complex MedSurg- Beds31- Ratiostypical ratio for all medsurg units is 1:5 up to 1:6 at times, ratio would be adjusted down for higher acuity patients- Required certifications (i.e., BLS, ACLS?)BLS, charge RN's have ACLS- Common diagnoses/Types of patientsOrtho, postop total joints, general medsurg overflow- Experience or 'Must have' skillslevel 1 trauma experience required. experience at a larger facility with a lot of surgeries/high acuity patients, must be comfortable with lines, chest tubes- Are RNs required to titrate drips?heparin, could have an order for amio and that can be started and then patient would be transferred to cardiac unit- Common titratable &/or set rate dripscardiac drips on 3south only - Are there tele/monitor techs on this unit? Are RNs required to read their own strips? What brand are the tele monitors?every unit has tele capability, patients are monitored on all units, central monitor station will communicate with RN, 3south tele unit also has central monitors at nurses station and every patient is on tele - Charge Nurse/House Supervisor? Does the charge nurse take an assignment?Both. Nurse managers are in house M-F business hours, starting at 3pm M-F and all weekend there is an adult house sup. charge takes light patient assignment, will take full load of patients if needed. educator and manager for each unit. Smaller units share manager and eduacator. - Are there nurse aids on this unit/Ratiosall units - RT Equipment (i.e., Cpap, BiPap, High Flow, vents, etc.)cpap bipap at night, RT to help, high flow on 2n, - Shifts & Scheduling (Do you allow self-scheduling?
