Junior Rural Surveyor

We are currently working on the below opportunity for a Junior Rural Surveyor working with an East Midlands Based Local Authority to support a customer-focused rural property service, promoting sustainable land use and assisting with compliance and service improvements" Junior Rural Surveyor Client: Leicestershire County Council Start Date: ASAP Duration: 3 Months Initially (likely extension) Rate: Negotiable(Umbrella Inside IR35) Hybrid Working Arrangement Onsite Weekly Key Responsibilities: Support the management of rural land and property owned by the council, including smallholdings, parks, and agricultural land. Assist in the preparation of valuations for lettings, acquisitions, disposals, and internal reporting. Help draft and administer agricultural tenancy agreements, licences, and leases. Contribute to the maintenance of accurate property records, maps, and databases. Assist in rent reviews, inspections, and monitoring tenant compliance with lease obligations. Provide support on land use matters, including planning applications, environmental schemes, and development proposals. Liaise with tenants, landowners, contractors, and internal departments to support the effective management of the rural estate. Attend site visits, surveys, and meetings with senior surveyors and property officers. Key Skills and Qualifications: A degree (or working towards one) in Rural Land Management, Property, Agriculture, or a related subject. Intention to work towards RICS qualification, preferably via the Rural or Land & Resources pathway. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and willingness to learn property management systems. Full UK driving licence (or working towards one) – desirable due to rural site access.
