Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Job Specialty: Medical Surgical Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Nights, 19:00-07:30 Guaranteed Hours: 36 or 48 hours must be indicated Experience: Minimum 1 year in Med Surg, inpatient only License: Current RN License eligible for licensure in the state of Missouri or currently licensed in Missouri Certifications: - Required: Basic Life Support (BLS) from American Heart Association - Preferred: Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) from American Heart Association Must-Have: - 1 year of inpatient Med Surg experience Job Description: - Provide patient care by utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. - Maintain professional accountability for the provision of patient care and coordinate patient care activities with ancillary departments. - Evaluate the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct caregivers and ensure patient rights and confidentiality. - Perform duties and responsibilities in line with the mission, values, and service standards of the facility. - Monitor and coordinate patient care activities to optimize patient care and comfort. - Function within the scope of nursing preparation and consistent with the established guidelines of nursing practice, Missouri Nurse Practice Act, and Mercy Code of Conduct. - Stand and walk most of the time on duty, with a significant amount of bending and stooping; assist in lifting and turning patients. - Maintain a patient-focused, team-player attitude. - May be required to float to other units depending on staffing needs. - Follow the dress code which specifies wearing black scrubs. - Flu vaccination required for all travelers from November 1 to April 1; declinations/exceptions are not accepted.
