Chalk Group is an independent and dynamic group of neighbourhood restaurants and bars open across Wokingham, Maidenhead, Farnborough and Aldershot. Each venue is unique, but all share the belief that meals should be enjoyed in casual, beautiful spaces and with service that is gracious and personal for all our guests. We are currently recruiting for a Head Bartender at Chalk Restaurant in Wokingham. Chalk Wokingham is a modern neighbourhood restaurant & bar situated in the Berkshire town of Wokingham. A space that encourages locals and visitors to convene over some delicious British food and great drinks. About the Role The role of a Head Bartender involves ensuring delivery of the bar operations to Chalk Group standards ensuring high standards of presentation are always maintained. Responsible for preparing, creating and serving a variety of bar snacks and beverages. Always seeking opportunities of creativity and upselling Putting the guest experience at the heart of all activities; going above and beyond to ensure guests have a high-quality, personalised, and magical experience that they remember, recommend and return to You will be expected to be able to hold a good level of knowledge regarding food/drink menu items and availability across all areas including the bar and restaurant. Maintaining a good knowledge of the wine list and stock availability. Understands the principles of food and wine matching, different grape varieties and predominant flavours. Working towards the achievement of departmental goals, contributing ideas and being open to trying new ways of working. Take personal ownership, operating within role parameters. As the Head Bartender, you will be expected to communicate and delegate in line with business levels and daily functions Most of all we will want you to be inspired, have fun and enjoy being part of our Chalk Group. About you: To be considered for this role you will have previous high end, bartending experience You will be enthusiastic and willing to take on new responsibilities. Adopt a flexible approach to assist in different areas of the restaurant as business and guest needs dictate. Having a high level of emotional intelligence, enabling you to be able to anticipate our guests needs ensuring they receive a Chalk experience. It is essential you can demonstrate how you would be able to deliver our guest experience standards at Chalk Group, which includes the ability to go above and beyond to ensure guests have a high-quality, personalised, and magical experience that they remember, recommend, and return to time and time again. Company Benefits A competitive salary package of £31,500.00 per year This is a Full-Time role working 5 days out of 7 including weekends on a rota basis, 40-48 hours per week, which may vary depending on business needs. Company pension scheme Life assurance scheme. 28 days holiday per year including bank holidays, increasing to 33 days including bank holidays with length of service.
