Senior Engineer

Danny Sullivan Group are currently looking for a Senior Engineer for a role with a Tier 1 contractor working on substation projects in Scotland. Ideal candidate will act as a key interface between design and construction supporting the Site Agent and managing junior engineers and subcontractors to maintain high standards in quality, safety and programme delivery. Responsibilities: Lead and manage engineering activities on substation build sites – including setting out, QA, temporary works, and technical compliance Support the Site Agent with planning, coordinating, and delivering civil works such as foundations, ducting, trenches, and control buildings Review and interpret drawings, specifications, and design information, resolving technical queries as they arise Ensure works are carried out safely, efficiently, and in compliance with BAM and client procedures Implement and manage quality assurance processes, inspections, and testing Supervise site engineers and provide mentoring and guidance Liaise with the design team, supply chain, and client representatives to ensure engineering solutions are implemented effectively Assist with short-term programming and contribute to risk and change management processes Maintain accurate site records and reports Experience/qualifications: Degree or HND in Civil Engineering or a related discipline Strong background in civil engineering, ideally within substation or energy infrastructure projects Experience with transmission/distribution clients (e.g. SSEN, SP Energy Networks, National Grid) desirable Proficient in setting out and using surveying equipment (e.g. GPS, total station) Knowledge of CDM regulations, temporary works, and quality systems Strong communication and leadership skills SMSTS, CSCS (Gold or higher), and First Aid certifications Full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel/stay away as needed Projects are based along the North Coast of Scotland and they are looking for candidates to lodge away from home.
