Entry Level Trainee Service Engineer who enjoys working with their hands and has a good work ethic and the willingness to learn and develop their skills into a successful career maintaining and servicing automatic fire sprinkler systems is required for a well-established company. NO EXPERIENCE REQUIRED - FULL TRAINING PROVIDED Although you do not need any previous experience you must be handy, and comfortable using tools such as screwdrivers, hammers, drills etc. SALARY: starting at £12.21 per hour Excellent Benefits (see below) LOCATION: Manchester, North West England This role will involve extensive travel to various sites for system inspections, repairs and emergency response. Overnight stays may be required (1 - 2 nights per week) JOB TYPE: Full-Time, Permanent PLEASE NOTE: Candidates will need a full current Driving Licence JOB OVERVIEW We have a fantastic new job opportunity for an Entry Level Trainee Service Engineerwho enjoys working with their hands and has a good work ethic and the willingness to learn and develop their skills into a successful career maintaining and servicing automatic fire sprinkler systems. Working as an Entry Level Trainee Service Engineer you will have the opportunity to join a dynamic and experienced team where you will assist and support the Service Engineers whilst carrying out essential sprinkler works and act as a second person on client sites. DUTIES Once trained your duties as an Entry Level Trainee Service Engineer include: Pre-Use Inspections: Conduct comprehensive pre-use checks of fire pumps, including the inspection of oil, fuel, and coolant levels Ensure that all necessary equipment and systems are operational and ready for use before each shift Monitoring Fire Pumps: Continuously monitor the operation of sprinkler fire pumps to ensure they are functioning properly during emergency situations or routine operations Identify any abnormalities or potential issues and report them immediately to the maintenance team or supervisor Monitor system pressure, flow, and temperature to ensure the pump operates within optimal parameters Logs of system performance, noting any deviations or irregularities for future reference or maintenance Troubleshooting: Respond promptly to any alarms or system malfunctions, taking the necessary actions to rectify issues in a safe and efficient manner Safe Shutdown Procedures: Be fully trained in and capable of performing emergency shutdown procedures for the fire pump systems when required Ensure that the fire pumps are properly secured after use or in the event of system failure CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS As theEntry Level Trainee Service Engineer you will have the following: ESSENTIAL Must have a full current driving licence Must be physically fit to perform inspections and manual tasks, including lifting, bending and standing for extended periods Must have a high attention to detail with the ability to detect and report issues promptly and accurately DESIRABLE Basic understanding of Engines, Motors and Pumped systems is beneficial but not required COMPANY BENEFITS Payment from door to door with comprehensive overtime incentives and uncapped overtime Annual Leave - starting at 28 days per annum including bank holidays increasing each year of service, close down for Christmas period Private Health Care - protection for your health for you Life Assurance - giving you peace of mind in the event of passing Employee Assistance Program - that little extra support where you need it most Wellbeing Events - various of initiatives for team building and wellbeing Long Service Awards - ranges from meals, hotels, weekends awa Bespoke Development Programs - training and development that suits you, not just a tick in the box Various Charity and Social Events - we genuinely care about others Health Surveillance - caring about you and your health Best of all, you’ll be part of an Employee Owned business HOW TO APPLY To be considered for this job vacancy, please submit your CV to our Recruitment Team who will review your details.
