Financial Accountant

Permanent Vacancy – Financial Accountant Location: St Albans, AL4 (1 day per week remote working) Duration: Permanent Salary: £50,000 to £60,0000 Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday The successful candidate will provide essential support to the Director of Finance and ensure the effective financial management of the institution. Key Responsibilities: Lead the finance team, providing effective leadership and support to ensure accurate and timely completion of all transactions and processes. Review, maintain, and develop the finance system, ensuring its fitness for purpose, access controls, and integrity. Support the preparation of key management reports for Senior Leadership Team and Corporation meetings. Manage Treasury functions to optimize interest income while maintaining accessible funds. Production of year-end statutory accounts and liaise with external auditors. Ensure timely and accurate completion of all finance returns (e.g., ONS and VAT returns). Qualifications and Experience: Fully qualified Accountant with a professional accountancy qualification (CCAB). Strong financial accounting skills and experience.
