Job Description Job Description Salary: $685 a week The Eugene O'Neill Theater Center is in search of a Seasonal Bar Manager for Blue Genes Pub for the 2025 Summer Season (Early May - Early August). This position works directly with the Operations and Production Manager to ensure the Pubs success. This is an exempt position and is expected to work 40 hours per week, including weekends. The salary for this position is a weekly stipend of $685, plus tips during bartending shifts. Along with working with the Operations and Production Manager, the Bar Manager must coordinate with ONeill staff for all Summer events including regularly scheduled shows, development events, rentals, and more. Candidates should have a firm grasp of bar management with the ability to develop and achieve goals, promote teamwork among bartenders, and create a welcoming and safe environment for patrons. Company Description The Eugene ONeill Theater Center is the countrys preeminent organization dedicated to the development of new works and new voices for the stage. From its campus in Waterford, Connecticut, the ONeill has been home to more than 1,000 new works for the stage and thousands more emerging artists. Blue Genes Pub sits in the center of the campus and acts as the space of gathering for playwrights, artists, staff, and community members. Among other responsibilities, the Bar Manager will: Serve as a regular bartender and presence in the Pub. Recruit, train, and manage bartenders. Complete regular and accurate stock inventory, ordering, and restocking as necessary. Place and receive all deliveries and maintain the condition of beer and wine in bottles and taps. Stay up-to-date and enforce all health and safety rules while ensuring the Pub is clean and well presented at all times. Be the main point of contact for all Pub matters including, welcoming patrons, managing any issues that arise, and coordinating Pub events with ONeill staff. Other duties as assigned. Experience Qualified candidates will have at least 1-year of professional experience in bar management or 5-years in professional bartending. They will also be comfortable handling cash, experience working with an EPOS till system, stand for long periods of time, and be able to lift at least 50 lbs. TIPS certified preferred.
