Resort Maintenance Technician - $24 per hour

Job Description Job Description This position is responsible for carrying out preventive and corrective maintenance activities on resort equipment and tools. Maintains all resort units and public space areas in good repair, ensuring an attractive and well-maintained property. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Carry out preventative and corrective maintenance activities as directed. Lubricate, clean, and inspect equipment, machines or tools. Locate and work on shut off valves for all equipment. Acknowledge and welcome owners/guests in line with company standards. Respond to all owner/guest requests to ensure client satisfaction. Unit and public space maintenance: Painting, stucco, texturing, drywall, staining, knockdown and popcorn ceilings. Basic appliance repair and/or removal and replacement installation. Minor repairs to electrical systems such as: refrigeration controls, television sets, and lighting systems. Troubleshoot plumbing fixtures, including drain cleaning. Change filters. Basic air HVAC controls and repairs. Inspection of rooms for pest intrusion. Replace caulk, tile/grout. Door repair to include, locking mechanisms and hinges. Replace light bulbs and ballasts. Repair closet/drapery tracks. Replacement of furniture. General carpentry and repairs. Furniture and structures such as cabinets, tables, chairs, doors, windows, and counters. Stain furniture and repair nicks and gouges. Replace remote control batteries. Unclog toilets and sinks. Touch-up paint. Glue peeling wallpaper. Ensure safety of resort and company assets. Assist with organizing maintenance inventory and request supplies and parts as needed. Provide daily status report of all work completed to immediate supervisor. If not completed, provide detailed explanation. Wear protective equipment when required. Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities ) High school diploma or equivalent. Two (2) years’ experience in building and/or facilities, property maintenance. Ability to communicate effectively with owners/guests in English, follow basic written and verbal directions. Current and valid driver’s license. Knowledge of and ability to use general repair tools (both hand and power). Ability to read simple drawings and specifications and make rough estimates of requirement materials. Experience/extensive knowledge of plumbing and electrical systems. Resort maintenance technicians will be expected to exhibit mastery of a minimum of three of the trade skills like electronic systems and controls, mechanical, kitchen equipment, refrigeration and general building management. Ability to communicate effectively. Command of the English language, written and verbally. Ability to work safely with chemicals, following all safety guidelines before and after use.
