Perennial Systems - Data & AI Manager - NLP/Machine Learning

Synopsis : We are seeking a skilled and visionary individual to join our team. In this role, you will work as an individual contributor (IC) while also demonstrating leadership capabilities, guiding the direction of key AI and data initiatives. This role is ideal for someone with a strong technical background in AI and data science who can contribute to the development, implementation, and scaling of cutting-edge AI technologies. You will help ensure our organization remains a leader in AI innovation while also exhibiting management skills to oversee key projects and mentor junior team members. As a Data & AI Manager, you will focus on driving AI and data strategies across the company, using your expertise in Generative AI, Natural Language Processing (NLP), and AI-driven document processing technologies. You will also help lead projects, working hands-on with AI frameworks and tools, and guide the organizations adoption of AI best practices. Who You Are : - You are a leader who has the ability to set a clear vision and strategic direction for the practice, anticipating future trends and technologies in Data Engineering, Data Science and Data Visualisation. - Proficiency with AI tools, frameworks, and platforms such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, spaCy, Transformers (Hugging Face), LayoutLM, Donut, Tesseract, PaddleOCR, ViT, and OpenCV. - You have the capacity to innovate and drive the development of cutting-edge solutions that address clients challenges and drive business growth. - You have built and lead multidisciplinary teams of data scientists, AI engineers, and domain experts, fostering a collaborative and inclusive work environment. - Proficient in formulating and executing strategic plans, aligning the practice's objectives with organizational goals, and maximizing value for clients and stakeholders. - Have engaged with clients in the past as a trusted advisor, understand their needs, build strong relationships, and deliver tailored solutions that exceed expectations. - Possess strong communication and presentation skills to effectively convey complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, including clients, senior management, and team members. - Have an aptitude for problem-solving and decision-making, leveraging data-driven insights and analytical thinking to address business challenges and drive innovation. - Updated with the latest advancements in the Data & AI vertical through continuous learning, attending conferences, and engaging with industry thought leaders. - Focus on delivering results, meeting project deadlines, and ensuring high-quality deliverables that drive value for clients and contribute to the success of the organization. - Adaptable to changing business requirements, technologies, and market dynamics, leading the practice through periods of growth and transformation with resilience and agility. - Experience with AI applications in specific sectors such as healthcare, financial services, taxation, or e-commerce (good to have). What You Will Do: - AI Vision and Roadmap: Align with the AI vision, contributing to and executing the roadmap for AI projects across the company. - You will play an integral role in setting strategic AI goals while acting as an IC driving execution. - AI Frameworks & Methodologies: Contribute to the development of best practices and frameworks for AI model development, deployment, and maintenance. Champion the use of advanced AI/ML tools and platforms such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, Hugging Face, spaCy, and Transformers for NLP. - Innovation & Research: Stay at the forefront of AI/ML advancements, incorporating new technologies, including Generative AI and Document Processing tools like LayoutLM and Donut. Contribute innovative solutions to AI challenges and integrate new techniques. - AI Governance & Ethics: Ensure ethical AI practices and help develop policies and procedures that govern the responsible application of AI. Focus on fairness, bias, privacy, and transparency while ensuring compliance with legal, regulatory, and organizational standards. - Team Development: While working as an IC, you will also take on a mentorship role, supporting junior AI team members, sharing your expertise, and fostering a collaborative culture of innovation and excellence. Guide your peers through complex technical challenges. - AI Enablement: Collaborate with R&D, engineering, and business development teams to turn AI insights into actionable solutions, driving the development of AI-powered products and services. - Stakeholder Communication: As a Manager, Data & AI, you will communicate AI strategies and developments to functional heads and executive leadership. You will help ensure alignment and understanding across all levels of the organization, bridging the gap between technical and non-technical stakeholders.
