Job Description
Assistant Lodge Manager: Duties: Reception duties / Lodge Management & Admin support. Check-ins / check-outs Daily running of Reception Arranging transfers/town trips when necessary Arranging guest trips when necessary Creating accurate guest invoices on departure Hosting guests during breakfast, lunch and dinner Managing the Housekeepers & butlers during Camp Managers leave Attending to all guest needs Room checks Room orientation on check in Overseeing bush banqueting Payroll Staff management Requirements: Grade 12 Hospitality Diploma or tertiary qualification At least 2 years previous experience in a high end 5 Lodge environment in a management role Strong F&B background Computer Literate Semper / Pastel literate Excellent guests relations skills Strong management skills Drivers License valid PDP will be an advantage Valid First Aid Certification South African Citizen An understanding of budget control and financial management Able to delicately manage community staff and drive the development / upliftment process Trails Guide: Duties: Conduct of a world-class wildlife and nature safari experience for all guests Proactive commitment to evolving the safari experience to ensure guests are continuously delighted by their stay Leading game drives, bush walks, wilderness trails and wildlife tracking in a Big 5 reserve Participation in conservation activities with guests where applicable Engagement with conservation projects including wildlife monitoring and sightings reports, liaising with Head of Reserve and Biodiversity Conservation Ongoing implementation of reserve code of conduct and standard operating procedures, including rules concerning safety Management of game viewing vehicle, including maintenance, tidiness, care of equipment and servicing Hosting of guests post-afternoon game drive in the bar Contribution towards sustainability goals Requirements: FGASA Level 2 Guide qualification FGASA Full or Back-Up Trails Guide qualification FGASA Advanced Rifle Handling qualification Business Competency certificate Up-to-date First Aid Valid drivers license with 4x4 experience Up-to-date PDP Computer literacy Passion for hospitality, conservation and sharing the wonders of the wild High standards of service excellence and attention to detail Proficient in English Photographic ability and editing skills advantageous Knowledge of Afrikaans or isiXhosa advantageous Excellent written and verbal communication skills Excellent teamwork skills Commitment to ongoing self-improvement and knowledge development
