Job Description
Responsibilities: Supervise and lead the housekeeping team to ensure cleanliness and maintenance standards are met consistently. Assign and oversee daily housekeeping tasks for the team, ensuring proper coverage and timely completion. Inspect guest rooms and public areas to ensure cleanliness, organization, and adherence to hotel standards. Provide training, guidance, and support to housekeeping staff to enhance their skills and productivity. Handle guest requests, complaints, and concerns, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction. Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies, linens, and equipment, placing orders as necessary. Ensure the proper handling and storage of cleaning chemicals and supplies in line with safety protocols. Monitor staff performance, conduct regular performance reviews, and provide feedback. Maintain a detailed and accurate record of housekeeping tasks, staff attendance, and other relevant reports. Assist with scheduling shifts, ensuring adequate coverage for peak periods, including weekends and holidays. Conduct regular stock audits and ensure all housekeeping areas are adequately stocked. Enforce cleanliness, safety, and hygiene standards in all areas of the hotel. Assist in planning and executing deep cleaning projects, seasonal tasks, and room upgrades. Collaborate with other hotel departments to ensure seamless guest experiences and efficient operations. Requirements: Education: Matric with English. Experience: Minimum 3 years’ experience in housekeeping, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role. Qualifications: Hotel school qualification is an advantage. Technical Skills: Opera experience or similar property management system. Computer Skills: Good proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software. Attention to Detail: Strong ability to spot inconsistencies and ensure high standards. Teamwork: Ability to work well under pressure and collaborate with others. Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Flexibility: Ability to work shifts, including late shifts, weekends, and public holidays. Time Management: Strong organizational and time management skills. Supervisory Skills: Ability to supervise and motivate staff, enforce discipline, and manage conflict. Problem-Solving: Ability to address and resolve guest or staff issues promptly and effectively.
