Job Description

Job Position: Cafeteria Managers Location: Oley Valley Middle School and Elementary School Pay Rate: $18.00 - $21.00/hr Shift: M-F 07:00AM - 3:30PM Job Summary: SOS Group is seeking a dedicated and organized Cafeteria Manager to oversee daily operations in Oley Valley Middle School and Oley Valley Elementary School. The ideal candidate will ensure the efficient management of food services, maintain high standards of cleanliness and safety, and provide nutritious meals for students and staff. The Cafeteria Manager will also manage staff, coordinate meal planning, and work within budgetary guidelines. This positions requires meal prep, cooking, cashier experience and supervisor experience. Key Responsibilities: Oversee daily cafeteria operations: Ensure meals are prepared and served on time, in accordance with nutritional guidelines and school standards. Staff management: Supervise, train, and schedule cafeteria staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment. Menu planning: Develop nutritious, appealing menus that meet federal and state guidelines for school nutrition programs. Inventory management: Order and maintain appropriate stock levels of food, supplies, and equipment, ensuring timely deliveries. Budget management: Monitor and control cafeteria budget, manage food and supply costs, and track expenditures to maintain financial efficiency. Compliance and safety: Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal health and safety regulations, including food storage, preparation, and sanitation. Customer service: Handle any concerns or complaints from students, parents, or staff regarding food service and dietary needs. Record-keeping: Maintain accurate records related to meal counts, inventory, and expenses. Qualifications: Education: High school diploma or GED required. Associate’s or Bachelor's degree in food service management, nutrition, or a related field is preferred. Experience: At least 2 years of experience in food service management, preferably in a school or institutional setting. Skills: Strong organizational and time-management skills. Ability to lead, supervise, and motivate a team. Knowledge of food safety regulations (ServSafe certification preferred). Budget management experience. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for long periods and lift items up to 50 pounds.
