TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified Psych RN in New York City, New York, 10004 Pay Information $2,453 per week About The Position Job Title: Registered Nurse Job Specialty: Crisis Intervention Job Duration: 16 weeks Shift: Day - 8AM, 5 days a week, 35 hours weekly Guaranteed Hours: 35 Experience: Not specified License: New York State RN License, Primary Source Verification Certifications: AHA BLS Must-Have: Strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills; courses in mental & behavioral health Job Description: - Engage individuals experiencing homelessness in various locations including streets, subways, and parks to conduct medical, mental health, and safety assessments. - Encourage individuals experiencing homelessness to seek shelter and services. - Conduct joint outreach with crisis coordinators and outreach teams to build trust and offer services. - Assess individuals to determine if immediate observation, care, and treatment in a medical facility is appropriate. - Work collaboratively with crisis coordinators and outreach workers to respond to street-level mental health crises. - Evaluate individuals' mental health conditions to identify signs of mental illness or behavior posing risks of harm. - Determine appropriate mechanisms for transporting individuals in mental crisis to psychiatric emergency programs. - Collaborate with outreach teams on care continuum and discharge planning. - Provide medical attention under the specified section of the Mental Hygiene Law and initiate necessary processes for medical intervention. - Document and assess individuals' conditions both in the field and in office settings using appropriate forms. - Communicate with hospital and psychiatric emergency staff to coordinate care and treatment. - Maintain and update records in a timely manner.
