ID: 53483900 Shift: 07:00-19:00 Description: Profile Radiation Oncology (Outpatient) RadOnc Building: Sarah Cannon, Level B Unit Name: RadOnc, Radiation Number of Beds: outpatient clinic, 8 exam rooms Cost Center: 764 Patient Ratios: 30-40 daily treats; 10-30 clinic visits/day Manager: Hope Sanford General Information Unit Specifics: Unit description- department is composed of front desk staff assistants (2), radiation therapists (7), nurses (4), Clinical NurseCoordinator (1), Chief Therapist (1), Director (1), medical physicists (2-3), APPs and MDs. We have two beam-matched Varian TrueBeam linear accelerators for external radiation treatments. We also have a new 2022 GE CT simulator, dedicated brachytherapy suite with GE CT sim, 8 clinic exam rooms, 4 of which are specialized for radiopharmaceutical infusions. Two therapists treat per machine, with 1-2 in CT sim and a potential floater. Nurses work 1:1 with physicians in clinic for continuity of care Type of equipment : Varian TrueBeam linear accelerators (2), GE Discovery CT Simulator, GE Lightspeed CT Simulator, Elekta Flexitron Afterloader, Canon Digital Imager, VisionRT Optical Surface Monitoring System, Varian RGSC Gating System, Bayer Contrast Power Injector, Hillrom Beds, Alaris IV pumps, Mobilab , NovaStat glucometer; iMobile (MHcure); Vein Finder, Ambu Rhinoscope, Scheduling requirements: 1.0 FT staff work M-F 40 hr/week; treatment starts 0700 and clinic starts 0800 with everything wrapping up by 1630; therapists rotate call on weekends for emergency treatment Floating policy: Staff does not float to other departments in the hospital, but opportunities to float to other Rad Onc clinics in the TriStar network Hiring profile Requested Skill Set: Positive, team centered approach to work environment Time management; timely responsiveness to patient and unit needs Adaptive communication skills/phone etiquette (including voice calls, text messaging) Proactive vs. reactive assessment Self-motivated, compassionate care Strong interdiscliplinary coordination of care Service Lines available: External Beam Radiation Therapy (EBRT), Stereotactic Radiation (SRS/SBRT), GYN Brachytherapy with moderate sedation (vaginal cylinders and tandem & ovoids), Cardiac Brachytherapy, Eye Plaques, Sirtex Y-90, Total Body Irradiation, Radiopharmaceutical infusions (Lutathera & clinical trials), Heterotopic Ossification, Cone Beam, Inpatient Referrals, Clinical Trials Certifications Required: BLS Other Highlights Awards/Recognition: Daisy/BEE Awards Only HCA Radiation department in Middle TN that offers all of the above service lines Dress Code: (Required uniform) Royal Blue Solid colored scrubs.
