About the role: We currently have an opportunity for a talented Shift Engineer to join our team at the San Domenico Palace Taormina for our bustling 2024 summer season Reporting to the Director of Engineering, you will be conducting the day-to-day routine and preventative maintenance within the hotel rooms and public areas of the hotel. You will respond promptly and efficiently to any maintenance calls that arise either by the guest or other departments. As part of a team of Engineers, you will contribute to the programmed maintenance operations to ensure all hotel premises are kept to the proper engineering standards. What will you do: Implement and handle preventative maintenance of all equipment and update appropriate logs. Diagnose and handle all repairs of equipment including motors, starters, breakers, chillers and associated equipment throughout the entire building. Work harmoniously and professionally with co-workers and supervisors. Perform scheduled building routine rounds. Respond to all emergency conditions such as fires, power failures, etc. Respond to guest calls (HotSos) regarding maintenance of rooms and equipment in rooms or public areas in a timely manner. Install or relocate any additional equipment or existing equipment when necessary. What you bring: At least three years experience in a hotel/resort environment in the same role with good knowledge of electrical, plumbing, refrigeration, heating/cooling, painting, carpentry, structural, recycling, ground care, parking areas, outsourced gardening team, fire and safety. You will have excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills, along with the highest level of integrity and transparency, strong technical expertise, an eye for detail, and a passion for service.
