The Line Cook will assist the Chef in kitchen operations. The right candidate will help us provide guests with the most outstanding food and dining experience. If you’re the best at what you do and enjoy providing superior service in an exciting atmosphere we would love to meet you Responsibilities A successful line cook ensures all food is prepared and presented in accordance with appropriate recipes and presentation on a consistent basis. Provide consistent safe and sanitary food storage, preparation, and cooking. Monitor and control maintenance/sanitation of the kitchen and equipment. Recognize and follow quality standards for meats, vegetables, fruits, dairy products, and grains, including proper storage of these items. Effective utilization of leftovers and control of waste. Be flexible and able to take direction. Work with others as a team player in a small confined space. Qualifications High school diploma, G.E.D., or equivalent. Culinary degree preferred or equivalent experience. Open availability. Must be able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays. Must provide evidence of employment eligibility in the U.S. Must be able to pass a mandatory drug test and criminal background check. Active California Food Handlers Certificate/Card required for this position. Physical and Mental Qualifications Must be able to lift and carry tools, supplies, and inventory up to 100 pounds. Must be able to walk, stand, and bend at neck for 3 or more hours a day. Position will require repetitive use of hands for the following actions: simple and power grasping, fine manipulation, pushing & pulling, and reaching for the entire shift. Position may require exposure to excessive noise, dust, gas, flames, chemicals, and extremes in temperature, humidity, or wetness.
