About the role The Media Investment Manager plays a vital in managing media budgets that deliver optimal results for clients and is responsible for leading and executing media buying strategies for a range of clients across digital, TV, radio, print, and any other relevant media channels. This role requires a deep understanding of media markets, strong negotiation skills and an ability to build strong relationships with media vendors & clients alike. Key Responsibilities: Media Planning & Buying: Work within the accounts teams to develop, negotiate and implement effective media investment strategies that align with client objectives. Oversee the implementation of media budgets across various platforms to ensure we are operating with best practise processes and cost-effective delivery of campaigns across all channels. Management & delivery of any client specific investment contracts / deals. Vendor Negotiation: Negotiate rates, placements, and added value with media vendors (TV, radio, digital, OOH, print, etc.) to secure the best value for clients. Be the 1st escalation point for accounts teams where any relevant campaign issues arise. Campaign Analysis: Oversee the tracking, analysis and reporting on the performance of media campaigns to ensure they meet key performance indicators (KPIs). Use data-driven insights to optimize media buys and improve campaign performance. Budget Management: Manage client media budgets, ensuring effective and efficient allocation and timely reconciliation of media spend. Monitor expenditures and provide regular financial updates to clients and internal teams. Ensure accurate and invoicing of all campaign activity in line with Media Plans, Client MBA’s and Publisher IO’s/Confirms. Client Communication: Work closely with account management teams to ensure media strategies align with client goals. Present media plans, performance reports, and investment recommendations to clients. Market Trends: Stay informed about the latest industry trends, new media channels, and technological advancements to advise clients on innovative investment strategies. Highlight and present any relevant client opportunities beneficial to their goals both tactical and strategic to account teams, clients and the wider agency Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams including media planners, digital strategists, creative teams, and data analysts to ensure cohesive execution of campaigns. Training & Education Work with Executives and Coordinators to develop their knowledge and skills across buying, implementation, reporting & understanding the market landscape Ensure Executives and Coordinators are trained to proficiency across all relevant systems & processes. Key Skills & Competencies: Strong analytical and numerical skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and make data-driven decisions. Excellent negotiation and relationship management skills with media vendors. Strong communication and presentation skills for both internal and client-facing discussions. Familiarity with media buying platforms, tools, and technologies (e.g., DSPs, ad servers, TV ratings systems). Knowledge of various media channels including digital (search, social, display, programmatic), TV, radio, OOH, and print. Ability to manage multiple projects and clients in a fast-paced environment. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in marketing, advertising, communications, or a related field. 3-5 years of experience in media buying, media investment, or a similar role within a media agency or media organization. Proficiency in media planning tools (e.g., Nielsen, Comscore, DoubleClick, or similar). Experience with financial management and budget reconciliation in media campaigns.
