Plumbing Design Engineer

Job Title: Plumbing Design Engineer Location: Santa Monica, CA Job Overview We seek a Certified Plumbing Designer (CPD) with expertise in designing and managing plumbing and piping systems for commercial, residential, and mixed-use developments. This role offers the opportunity to collaborate with top industry professionals while delivering innovative, high-performance plumbing solutions. Key Responsibilities Lead plumbing design projects from concept through completion, ensuring compliance with California Plumbing Code (CPC), NFPA, ASPE, and ADA standards. Oversee and mentor junior engineers, designers, and CAD/Revit technicians, ensuring high-quality deliverables and adherence to industry best practices. Select materials and equipment to meet project specifications, sustainability goals, and performance requirements. Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and architectural teams to ensure seamless integration of plumbing systems. Support the construction phase, including reviewing submittals, responding to RFIs, and conducting site visits to verify design compliance. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent coursework in Plumbing Design. 5 years of experience in plumbing system design for commercial, residential, multi-family, and restaurant projects. Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, MS Word, and MS Excel; experience with Bluebeam and Navisworks is a plus. LEED Certification and knowledge of sustainable plumbing solutions are highly desirable. Strong client relationship skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines. Local and stable work history, demonstrating reliability and long-term commitment to the industry.
