Senior Restaurant Accountant - Remote

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Daily review of sales and labor reports. Reconciliation and review of third-party delivery platform transactions (e.g., DoorDash, Uber Eats), including processing refunds and troubleshooting issues. Managing regular period closing tasks, including bank reconciliations, account reconciliations, and assisting with COGS-related matters. Using accrual-based accounting practices to support financial reporting. Assisting with year-end reconciliations to prepare GAAP-compliant financial statements. Preparing and assisting with sales tax returns. Reconciling gift card liabilities and conducting breakage calculations. Reviewing and reconciling insurance policies and accruals. Supporting monthly tasks such as credit card and travel expense analyses. Contributing to the development and streamlining of processes and systems for a growing organization. Other responsibilities as assigned. Qualifications Strong work ethic and an eagerness to grow within an expanding company. 5-10 years of accounting experience in the restaurant industry preferred. Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent professional experience; strong academic record is a plus. Knowledge of GAAP accounting principles is highly desirable. Superior written and verbal communication skills. Problem-solving mindset with an aptitude for innovation. Familiarity with and interest in a sustainability-focused lifestyle is a plus. Demonstrated ability to handle a fast-paced work environment effectively. Proficiency in cultivating and improving accounting processes for a growing business. Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively. Familiarity with Microsoft Excel is required.
