Job Description Job Description POSITION SUMMARY: This front desk position consists of multiple functions. Duties include greeting patients and guests in an appropriate manner; registering patients; scheduling appointments; receiving incoming calls; orienting new patients to the Center's procedures; performing household financial assessments and collecting fees. RESPONSIBILITIES: Receive patients; maintain patient and guest sign-in logs; insert appropriate forms in the patient's medical chart and update patient insurance and demographic information in the patient's medical chart. Update patient information (social, financial, health) in the agency's computer-based management information system. Apply sliding fee scale as applicable to uninsured patients. Schedule patient appointments via the agency's computer-based management information system or manually. Patients may be scheduled in person or by calling from outside the agency. Follow-up broken appointments by carrying out re-contact procedures. Collect payments (co-pays, fee assessments) for services rendered and issue receipts. Perform clerical tasks related to front desk operations.
