About the Role We are on the lookout for a skilled engineer to enhance and scale our systems to meet growing user demands. Our technology stack spans multiple areas, including front-end, backend, edge computing, and machine learning. In this role, you will take ownership of a significant portion of our backend infrastructure. Key Responsibilities: Design and develop APIs, databases, and data pipelines. Ensure scalability, system observability, and cost optimization. Own the end-to-end delivery of features while maintaining high service-level agreements (SLAs) and resolving issues effectively. Collaborate with teams specializing in front-end, edge computing, and machine learning. This is a full-time, in-office position (Monday to Friday). Qualifications & Experience: 5 years of professional experience building scalable systems. Proficiency in backend technologies, including FastAPI, Python 3, Docker, Postgres, and Redis. Expertise in designing, deploying, debugging, and optimizing APIs, databases, and pipelines to handle high traffic volumes and multi-terabyte datasets. Bonus skills include: Experience with front-end technologies such as React and React Native. Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Pulumi on AWS). Monitoring tools knowledge (e.g., Sentry, Grafana). Authentication systems experience (e.g., Auth0). Highly motivated with a strong work ethic and a drive to succeed. What We Offer: Competitive salary: £100,000 - £130,000 base (can go above for rockstars). Equity options in an early-stage startup. Fully covered private dental and vision insurance.
