Job Title: Operations Chef Company: Alley Cats Pizzeria Salary: up to £62k per annum Location: London, UK (Marylebone, Kings Road Chelsea, Central Production Kitchen and future locations) About Us: Alley Cats Pizzeria is a rapidly growing restaurant brand renowned for our delectable pizzas that draws its inspiration from NYC and offers a warm, welcoming atmosphere. We are proud of our first opened restaurant in Marylebone, which just celebrated its one-year anniversary, and the successful opening of our second location in Kings Road Chelsea. With ambitious plans to open at least three more locations in London by the end of 2025, we are seeking a dynamic and experienced Operations Chef to join our team and drive our expansion. Job Overview: As the Operations Chef, you will play a crucial role in the growth and success of Alley Cats Pizzeria. You will be hands-on with site visits, overseeing & coaching site teams on their actual results across all aspects of operations versus their KPIs. Directly managing Head Chefs to develop & implement processes and SOPs into site as needed. Ensuring the venue maintains strong controls of inventory, maximising labour efficiency and productivity to drive sales all while ensuring a 5 EHO standard. Also, working closely with the Operations Director to engage General Managers on FOH operations for service standards, product knowledge, labour efficiency and maximising sales. Supporting Operations Director & Development Chef on new openings & materials as needed, ensuring effective handover of new site to venue management team. Reporting directly to the Operations Director, you will ensure the smooth operation and consistency of our brand across all locations. Key Responsibilities: Oversee the daily operations of multiple restaurant locations, ensuring high standards of service and quality. Conduct regular site visits to monitor performance, address issues, and ensure adherence to company standards. Introduce and refine systems and processes to enhance efficiency and operational effectiveness. Manage & support Head Chefs. Provide guidance, training & performance feedback. Support Operations Director in FOH operations by engaging General Managers on service standards, staff product knowledge, labour efficiency, sales capture and P&L results action plans. Collaborate with the Operations Director and Development Chef to align operational strategies with business goals. Monitor financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting & cost control. Foster a positive and motivated work environment, promoting teamwork and continuous improvement. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies. Develop and implement comprehensive new opening handbooks to streamline the launch of new locations. Execute opening plan as laid out by Head Office and other support leaders to launch successful new location(s). Efficient & effective handover of new site to venue management for operations. Qualifications: 2 years of proven experience as a Head Chef, Area Chef, Multi-Site Head Chef or similar role in the restaurant industry. Strong understanding of restaurant operations, back-of-house operations & processes along with front-of-house operations. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple locations and drive operational excellence. Excellent leadership and people management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams. Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities. Exceptional organizational and project management skills. Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
