Job Description Job Description JOB DESCRIPTION POSITION: Lift Maintenance Mechanic FLSA: Non-Exempt DEPARTMENT: Mountain Ops REPORTS TO: Lift Maintenance Manager SUMMARY: Ensures all lifts comply with national and local safety and operational codes. Also ensures that all lifts are operated in accordance with company, manufacturers and regulatory guidelines. Performs all maintenance according to company and governmental safety procedures and regulations. Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to the following: SPECIFIC DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES : Lead by example for a safe work environment. Works closely with Lift Operations Manager and with Lift Maintenance Manager to ensure that lifts are being operated and maintained correctly. Assist and monitors lift operations while lifts are open and running. Maintains slope lighting system. Operate heavy equipment and some construction work is required Maintains all related lift records in detailed and timely manner. Maintains slope lighting system and snowmaking 480 3 phase electrical system outside Compressor building. Troubleshooting electrical and mechanical snowmaking equipment Assisting the Lift Operations staff with training, supervising and transporting Lift Attendants to and from office. Assisting guests in a courteous, professional and responsible manner. Snow ramp maintenance. Complete and document all daily checklists for lift repairs. Accountable for delegated service work on assigned shifts. Accountable for weekly project lists. Responsible for lift accident paperwork during shifts. Must follow policies and procedures outlined in the Wintergreen handbook. Must be able to take on additional assignments and tasks as directed by management. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Skill & Abilities in: The Lift Maintenance Mechanic will perform routine, emergency and preventative maintenance as well as troubleshooting on a variety of items such as electrical motor controls, both AC & DC drives, PLC knowledge is preferred. Must be able to troubleshoot mechanical problems and solve problems creatively under pressure. Experience with low voltage controls, 24 volt battery systems, relay logic and hydraulics is preferred but not required. Will train specific skills required to perform maintenance and troubleshooting on both aerial and surface lifts. Attention to detail and safety are a must for this position. Competent skiing or snowboarding skills are recommended but not required. Education, Training and Experience Guidelines: High school diploma OR GED. LICENSE AND CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENT(S): Must possess a valid Driver's License PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT: Must be able to perform strenuous physical labor including, but not limited to lifting and carrying 50 lbs. Must be able to work outdoors under extreme winter weather conditions. Needs to be able to climb upwards of 50 feet in adverse weather conditions and be comfortable working from heights. Must be able to tolerate long hours on the job, during the winter/ski season, 12 hour work days and 50 hour work weeks are not unusual. Must be able to work holidays, weekends and evenings.
