Johnson Outdoors Diving markets a complete line of underwater diving and snorkeling equipment, including regulators, buoyancy compensators, dive computers and gauges, wetsuits, masks, fins, snorkels and accessories. As an Accounting Representative you will prepare, record, verify, analyze and report on accounting transactions (accounts payable, accounts receivable and/or general accounting) for goods and/or services on a timely basis in accordance with internal control policies. What you will do: Key Responsibilities May perform accounts payable, accounts receivable and/or general accounting functions as defined below and as required from your business: Accounts Payable Performs accurate and timely processing of accounts payable transactions, which may include preparing invoices, routing for approval and issuing payments. Identifies and resolves vendor issues, reconciles statements, confirms payments are processed timely, and ensures vendor information is up-to-date. Performs daily banking activities related to stop payments and void issues. Accounts Receivable Performs accurate and timely processing of accounts receivables transactions, which may include preparing open invoices, preparing dunning process, routing for approval and setting up direct debit processes. Identifies and resolves customer issues, reconciles statements, confirms receivables are processed timely and ensures customer information is up-to-date. Independently performs and reconciles petty cash. Performs accounts receivable collection, and/or provides preparation for collection process with agency. Performs daily banking activities related to customer payments and void issues. General Maintains and reconciles ledger accounts, financial statements and/or reports. Prepares, enters and posts adjusting journal entries as needed. Ensures accuracy, researches discrepancies and follows up accordingly. Recommends and implements approved changes to accounting processes to improve efficiency or correct problems. Provides assistance in the monthly closing process and quarterly/annual audits. Ensures external and internal controls and policies are adhered to. Provides assistance in other accounting functions and projects as needed. May be responsible for a variety of administrative functions such as word processing, reporting and filing. Performs other duties as assigned. Education And Experience Requirements Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Experience: Typically requires a minimum of 2 years of relevant accounting experience. Knowledge, Skills And Abilities Basic knowledge and understanding of general accounting principles including general ledger concepts. Strong organizational and time management skills with a high level of attention to detail. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Word, Excel and Outlook. Experience using or ability to understand and use automated software. Good written and verbal communication and customer service skills to effectively work with a variety of employees and management. Ability to meet deadlines with accuracy. Self-starter that can thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment. Skills and experience in performing, processing, reconciling, analyzing and auditing accounts payable and/or accounts receivable transactions.
