Luggage Porter

Millennium Gloucester Hotel London Kensingtonis seeking aLuggage porter who will be responsible to assist arriving guests with their luggage and transportation requirements, to follow-up on miscellaneous guest requests or requirements, to assist the Concierge on duty as necessary in providing guest services. This role combines customer service, safety, and logistical responsibilities to enhance the overall guest experience. TheLuggage PorterKey Responsibilities will include: To assist arriving guests, as required, then proceed to luggage lift to retrieve guest luggage (from claim check provided from the receptionist) and proceed to guest room to continue check-in procedure. Ensure guest room is in order, describe location of TV control, air conditioning control, guest services directory, etc to guests checking in; report any deficiencies or guest dissatisfaction at once to the Manager on duty Page guests as required, deliver messages, packages or other items to guestrooms or other areas of the hotel as required. Assist departing guests with their luggage and transportation arrangements, by picking up luggage from guest rooms, and checking it, or bringing it to the entrance, loading it in the taxi/car, etc, as required by the guest. Handle luggage for tour group check-ins in accordance with established procedures and to include use of exit buy the luggage room. Assist the Concierge on duty as required by answering the telephone, taking messages, providing information, etc as required by the guest. The Experience & Qualifications forLuggage Porter: Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to takes suitcases and bags from guests checking in and out, tags it and provide conformation slip, explain feature of the rooms and hotel facilities, maintain appearance, cleanliness and safety standards in hotel, ensure guests leaves safely in the event of evacuation. Excellent written/verbal communication and the ability to communicate across all levels of an organization. Knowledge of London and local area, hotel facilities, handling luggage, taking and delivering messages and parcels, tagging bags and keeping record of it, working as part of a team Ability to take the initiative and deal with unexpected situations and last minute changes. Ability to deal with sensitive and confidential data.
