Engineering Project Manager

Job Title: Project/Program Manager I Client: Amazon Pay Rate : $30-$34/hr Location : ONSITE in VA Beach, VA Schedule: Full-time; onsite 5 days/week Duration: 12 month contract Overview: The team is seeking candidates with experience in either project engineering, process engineering or hands-on engineering that is customer facing. They need someone who is going to be able to be an extension of their full-time team onsite and help manage stakeholder relationships, earn trust, and ensure a smooth integration of technology on site. This person will have exposure to latest, cutting edge in warehouse automation – the biggest robotics program in the client's history. Looking for someone who is passionate about complex projects/programs and interested in robotics and warehouse automation . The biggest thing for these roles is alignment to the leadership principles - ability to earn trust, bias for action, and deliver results. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Responsibilities: Responsible for the coordination and completion of project/program. Oversees all aspects of projects/program. Sets deadlines, assigns responsibilities, and monitors and summarizes progress of project/program. Prepares reports for upper management regarding status of project/program. Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. Leads and directs the work of others. Identify needs and not wait for direction – finding needs and solving in real time, earn trust as they are customer-facing in buildings, quickly earn trust of ops team, deliver results Requirements: Minimum 2-4 years of relevant experience Particularly for this person, someone who has an engineering background, technical degree/background (like process engineer), or operations experience Experience in PPM (Project Portfolio Management); exposure to it Interested in robotics and warehouse automation Previous Amazon experience is a PLUS
