Tree Planting Officer (PO1)

Who You Are You are a motivated Tree Planting Officer equipped with a level 3 qualification in Arboriculture or equivalent industry experience in tree planting and establishment. You have strong tree identification skills and an understanding of species' suitability for various planting locations. Your proficiency in both communication and IT systems enables you to work independently, make informed decisions, and travel independently to various sites within the Borough of Enfield. What the Job Involves The role involves leading the implementation and management of tree planting programmes on corporate lands, such as highways, housing, parks, and leasehold farms. You will source funding opportunities, promote community and stakeholder participation, and ensure the successful planting and aftercare of new tree stock from inception to completion. As part of the job, you will liaise with contractors and internal departments to ensure compliance with arboricultural safety standards and best practices. Additionally, you will provide technical advice, prepare planting schemes, and collaborate on broader council initiatives, occasionally working outside normal hours to meet project demands.
