Senior Software Engineer, Forecasting Nando’s has been in the UK and Ireland since 1992 and we’ve grown from a single takeaway store in Ealing, London to over 450 restaurants across all locations. You will be joining a tech team that has grown in the past few years and is determined to enable change within the restaurant industry by bringing innovative thinking and the latest technology tools and practices to solve some of its most complex problems. Day In The Life Of The Forecasting Work across front-end applications, back-end services, data pipelines and cloud infrastructure management to enable restaurants to run smoothly. Be part of an agile, cross-functional development team, participating in code reviews, testing and deployments. Pair up with other engineers to collaboratively solve business problems integral to running our restaurants brilliantly. Work across team/domain boundaries to ensure our services integrate correctly into the wider technology organisation. Skills You have: Experience in setting up, maintaining, and querying different types of databases using SQL/NoSQL (familiarity with BigQuery and Dataform is a plus) Optimisation of data, analysis of information, and organisation of new sources of data into databases Proven experience as a Full Stack Software Engineer, focusing on application development and integrations Experience building applications using modern frameworks, languages and tools such as TypeScript, React and Next.js - Proven ability to build relationships with technical peers - Understanding of the importance of constructive feedback to improve code quality and team performance Experience with testing strategies, including unit testing, and integration testing - Experience with infrastructure as code tools e.g. Terraform Proven experience in setting up release pipelines using CI/CD methodology You are: Kind and empathetic, encouraging others to do their best work and building a psychologically-safe, happy workplace People-focused with a strong interest in mentoring and supporting junior engineers A great communicator who can tailor conversations to your audience at all levels of the business Passionate about software engineering and staying up to date with the latest technologies and trends Experienced in building and deploying web applications with a focus on scalability, maintainability and security Everyone is Welcome At Nando’s, everyone is welcome.
