Onward Search is seeking dedicated and passionate Special Education Teachers to join a dynamic school team in Cook County, IL. These are full-time, in-person roles starting mid-January 2025 and continuing through the remainder of the school year. Details You Should Know: Location: In-person (no virtual or hybrid option) Schedule: Monday - Friday Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 32.5 hours Caseload: Varies Grade Level: Varies Start Date: January 13, 2025 End Date: End of the 2025 school year Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs. Adapt general education lessons to meet the needs of students with disabilities. Provide instruction in a variety of settings, including small group and one-on-one instruction. Collaborate with general education teachers, parents, and support staff to ensure students’ needs are met. Monitor and assess students’ progress toward IEP goals and adjust instruction as needed. Manage classroom behavior and provide a positive, supportive learning environment. Maintain accurate student records and communicate progress with parents and school administrators. Attend and participate in meetings related to students' education, including IEP meetings. Qualifications : Valid Illinois State Teaching License with Special Education endorsement (PEL required), or LBS1 endorsement Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or related field. Experience working with students with special needs, including those with learning disabilities, emotional disturbances, or other developmental challenges.
