Entry Level Maintenance Assistant/Handyperson Edinburgh Full time, Perm £11.99 per hour About the role The role you have applied for is a 40-hour p/w Typical 8.5-hour shift patterns are fulfilled between (Apply online only) any day of the week. Each shift is 8.5 hours (8 hours paid, 30 minutes unpaid break) Enforcing the practices that ensure the hotel is compliant with Health and Safety obligations. Support your supervisor by liaising with contractors to ensure preventive and reactive maintenance is completed. Carry out day to day maintenance and upkeep of guest and plant room equipment. Have a troubleshooting and practical mindset. The ability to prioritise tasks and time to ensure your day-to-day tasks are completed in a timely manner and to a high level of workmanship. Demonstrate high levels of cleanliness and organisation in order to keep workspaces clean and tidy, track stock of products and equipment and the safe storage of tools. In this role, and once trained and settled in you will be expected to be competent at: o Opening the department and preparing your tasks and jobs for the day ahead. o Enforcing high levels of health and safety o Carry out and complete jobs to a high standard of workmanship. o Help maintain stock levels of commonly used items, so the department is never left short. i.e. light bulbs, batteries, paint, common tools. o Use of systems to have visibility of new jobs and mark jobs as complete. Other opportunities for on-the-job learning exist and can be explored once you have been here for 90 days. These include placing orders, stock control, enhancing and further curating a health and safety culture, coordinating work with contractors and develop a deeper understanding of infrastructure, plant and system operations. You will be part of a rota team, working rotational shifts which can be any day of the week.
