ACTIVITIES COORDINATOR - FULL-TIME ASSISTED CARE For over 35 years, North Hill, a not-for-profit senior living community located in Needham, Massachusetts, has provided vibrant living opportunities to people 65 by offering a host of hospitality, wellness and health care services. The Activities Coordinator is responsible for planning, developing, organizing, implementing and evaluating programs for Residents. Shifts: 8:30-5:00, 9:00-5:30, 10:30-7:00 Job Specific DutiesReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Plans, designs, implements and evaluates programs to enhance the Resident experienceProvides meaningful individual and group engagements within the small house modelCreates weekly Residents notes regarding participation, behavior, programming recommendations and highlights per household;Collaborates with the interdisciplinary team daily to ensure Residents needs are metCompletes written or electronic documentation in a timely mannerParticipates in household meal services, including preparation, cooking and serving mealsMonitors changes in the Resident's needs, abilities, and preferences to provide programs and activities appropriate for individual and group audiencesAssists with facilitating volunteer opportunities for Team Members and ResidentsWorks closely with family members and outside organizations or individuals to provide care to Residents (i.e., private companion, hospice team, etc.)Coordinates supplies and space as needed for planned eventsAssists in developing, producing, and distributing the monthly and daily program calendarPerforms administrative requirements, such as ordering supplies, proofing publications, and completing necessary forms as neededSupports, encourages and directs independent activity pursuits, both individually and in small groups Engages Residents in one-on-one interactionsFacilitates group activities according to the programming scheduleFacilitates virtual visits for ResidentsProvides caring, thoughtful and engaging service at all timesCommunicates any challenges, complaints or service difficulties to immediate supervisorMeets department uniform, appearance, and grooming requirementsComplies with all OSHA safety regulations, applicable local laws regarding health, safety, or environmentRequired Skills and AbilitiesAbility to maintain confidentiality and strong customer support skillsComplies with protection of health information (HIPAA) safeguardsAbility to work independently with limited supervisionMust possess the ability to deal tactfully with Team Members, Residents, family members, visitors, and the general publicWork professionally with people from a wide variety of cultural and socio-economic backgroundsWhen working in Resident areas, must be able to communicate effectively in EnglishAttends and participates in in-service educational classes, Healthcare Academy and staff meetings as directedAbility to use/learn technology such as FaceTime, Zoom, Eversound, Skype, and audio systemsEducation and ExperienceA High School Diploma or equivalentProficient with computer software programsMaintains First Aid, CPR, and other certifications and trainingsTraining and knowledge in recreational activities for a senior population is preferred2 years' experience in senior living or hospitality setting preferredNORTH HILL OFFERS:Free mealsFree parkingFree on-site fitness centerState-of-the-art work environmentEmployee referral programHealth & Dental Benefits401(k) with company matchCareer Development TrainingTuition Reimbursement North Hill is committed to providing equal opportunity for employment and advancement to all team members and potential team members.
