It is anticipated that this position will work a blend of remote and in-office work at our downtown Madison location ( 201 E. Washington Ave. ). Our office is located near a wide variety of restaurants and food carts, live music and events, the farmer's market, B-cycle rentals, lakefront parks, the Capital City bike path, and multiple bus routes. This recruitment may be used to fill future similar vacancies (permanent, project or Limited Term). Position Summary This position will be responsible for maintaining and coordinating as a researcher and planner for Workforce Innovation and Opportunities Act (WIOA). This position is responsible for program and project planning, evaluations, and technical assistance and training. This includes planning, analysis of quantitative and qualitative data, problem identification, research and resolution. In addition, this position is directly involved in the development of strategies to address skilled worker shortages and skilled training needs in occupational areas identified by the Council on Workforce Investment (CWI) and other councils. This position serves as a planning and program consultant to assist in planning and effective delivery of WIOA services as well as a consult to other external and internal workforce, educational and economic partners to the Department of Workforce Development (DWD). This position will work with other DET staff, Workforce Development Board staff, and local Job Center partner staff to assist in planning processes, analyze and recommend service delivery strategies, and identify resources needed. This position will serve on intra-divisional and interdepartmental work groups to assist in developing policies and operational procedures for program implementation. A 12-month probationary period will be required. This position is not represented in a collective bargaining unit and is considered exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act. Pay will be set in accordance with the State Compensation Plan in effect at the time of appointment. Starting pay may vary for current state employees. Job Details Travel : Occasional in-state travel will be required, with the occasional need for an overnight. Remote work : This position offers a hybrid remote work schedule, requiring at least 1 day in the office per week or per business needs. Employees with approved remote and hybrid-remote work arrangements are generally expected to work within the state of Wisconsin. High-speed internet access is required to meet the needs of remote work. Remote work options are subject to change.
