Chef de Partie / Bakery chef 5 days out of 7 No Evenings Salary: £28,000 pa Are you currently a chef looking for a new challenge? At Blackwell & Co we are looking for an experienced chef de partie to join our operation. We are a delicatessen and bakery set in the picturesque village of long Melford, Suffolk specialising in British charcuterie, deli products and artisan bread. The job will entail the making of: Artisan bread including sour dough, Homemade sausage rolls and scotch eggs, Hand raised pies, Terrines and pates, Jams, chutneys, preserves. Responsibilities for the role: Learning to prepare all artisan breads for sale in the shop, Ensure the shop is always stocked with deli product (pies, sausage rolls, scotch eggs etc), Be innovative with new ideas and products, Production of products for wholesale, Keeping the kitchen clean and tidy and to food safety standards, Assist the head chef with day to day running of the kitchen, including Haccp and food safety, Help with product development, Production of chutneys, sauces, pickles, jams. You will also have to be able to assist in the shop where needed to help behind the deli counter and talk to customers and be able to talk passionately about the products and be able to give cooking advice and ideas. We make 70% of the products in the deli and hoping to extend this to 100%, This job is suited to a chef looking for a great work life balance with the freedom to express their culinary skills in a new way.
