Job Description

About us:

Labl.it is an all-in-one commercial kitchen labelling solution. Our technology helps commercial kitchens to stay compliant with regulations, improve their speed of operation, and save money.

Founded in 2020, Labl.it is now a team of nine employees, and we’re proud to be trusted by over 1500+ hospitality businesses, including Harrods, Hilton and Turtle Bay. In 2024 we’ve started working with an increasing number of enterprise clients, and enterprise is our focus for growth in 2025.

It’s really important to us that every Labl.it employee enjoys their work, feels included, delivers their best, and wants to see everyone in the business succeed. We’re excited about our potential for sustainable growth over the next year, which is where you come in!

The Marketing Manager role:

This role will be our most senior hire outside of the founding team, so we’re looking for someone who’s keen to innovate to reach large enterprise clients and is motivated by the potential for growth for themselves and the business.

You’ll report to our CEO Kyle, and manage a marketing intern. You’ll also manage relationships with marketing agencies and freelancers. Labl.it has ambitious growth plans, so it’s likely you’ll be managing a larger team in the future.

You’ll be focused on implementing our enterprise growth strategy; this strategy is already created, but if you’re looking to grow your strategic experience, we’d love to bring you into the evolution of this and the development of future marketing strategies.

Ultimately, the purpose of this role is to increase brand awareness, the volume of self-serve signups, and the number of enterprise leads that reach the sales team.

Benefits (in addition to statutory):

  • 36 days annual leave, plus an extra paid day off for your birthday
  • Professional development budget
  • Monthly team building: We clock off early once a month to spend a few hours enjoying an activity chosen by the team, such as go-karting, bouldering, or virtual darts competitions.
  • End-of-month lunch: Lunch at the Chilworth Arms is on us on the last Friday of the month.
  • A life admin hour: One paid hour a month to use as you please - some people hit the gym, others get their nails done, some just enjoy an early finish for the weekend.
  • Performance bonus

A typical month for the Marketing Manager is likely to include:

  • Planning strategy, managing implementation and campaigns
  • Managing budgets, data, content creation throughout the funnel, and agency/freelancer relationships
  • Meeting colleagues (leadership, product, sales, customer service), customers and suppliers
  • Reporting on KPIs, campaign performance and opportunities
  • Creating messaging, content (within reason) and briefs for external partners

You have:

  • 3+ years experience in digital marketing
  • Campaign management experience
  • The ability to make data-driven decisions and articulate your analysis to others
  • Experience of working with CRM systems (we use HubSpot)
  • An understanding of startup/scaleups, either through your career or own interest
  • A confident communication style with the ability to convey your reasoning
  • An eye for the excellent; you know how to create professional-grade content, and how to brief others to do the same
  • A marketing strength that you want to flex: perhaps you’re great at creative concepts, copywriting, traffic management or data analysis
  • ….and a corresponding understanding of which marketing facets you’re not an expert in, with the ability to manage others with skills in these areas

And some nice-to-haves:

  • You’ve worked in a startup, scaleup or high-growth environment
  • You have experience in tech and/or hospitality
  • You’ve managed employees before
  • You have experience of working with agencies and creative freelancers
  • You’re already well-versed with Hubspot

We want you to know:

  • We’re looking for a T-shaped marketer, not a unicorn. You won’t be expected to personally deliver every campaign, click and piece of content: you’ll have ownership of a marketing budget and the freedom to engage agencies and freelancers as required.
  • This isn’t a ‘sales dressed up as marketing’ role; we have fantastic SDRs and a clear pipeline from sales to marketing.
  • Previous people management experience isn’t essential; you’ll be supported to grow into an effective manager.
  • We’re open to flexibility: we’ve advertised this role as full-time, but if you need a different set up we’d still love to hear from you.
  • Our team is Southampton-based and meeting in person is important to us, so this role wouldn’t work if you were fully remote.

Have we tempted you?

Great. We started advertising for this role in January 2025, and will be reviewing applications from late January 2025.

There’s no deadline; we’ll keep the recruitment process going until we find the right person. We’re aiming to shortlist and interview candidates within 4 weeks of application, and we’ll keep you posted throughout the process.

To apply, please send your CV and cover letter (or equivalent - you might prefer to create a slide deck or video, it’s up to you!) to marketingmanager@labl.it with the subject line format Marketing Manager Application - [Your Name].

If you have any questions about the role, you’re welcome to contact marketingmanager@labl.it We’ll do our best to get back to you quickly.

  • No agencies, please.
