A Unique Pathway to Design Management

New Year, New Career Direction.

Are you an experienced Part II Architectural Assistant or a recently qualified Architect looking for a fresh start in 2025? This exclusive opportunity, uniquely supported by Grõ Careers, offers a dynamic alternative to traditional architectural roles, combining your architectural expertise with the exciting world of design management.

Why Start Your New Chapter Here?

This highly sought-after role is your chance to pivot your career into a unique and rewarding direction. As an aspiring design manager, you’ll apply your architectural knowledge to managing the delivery of prestigious projects while working alongside industry leaders. This position not only provides a fresh challenge with extensive learning, but also equips you with essential strategic skills that can unlock future opportunities in design and project management - positions that may otherwise be out of reach without this pivotal experience.

Your Role and Responsibilities

Step into a role designed for architects ready to embrace the strategic side of design. You’ll:

  • Support the Delivery of Flagship Projects: Work on large-scale cultural, mixed-use, masterplanning, and hospitality projects valued from £50 million to £600+ million across the UK and internationally (with opportunities for travel).
  • Coordinate Multidisciplinary Teams: Ensure smooth collaboration between consultants, design teams, and clients.
  • Engage with Clients and Stakeholders: Lead client meetings, refine project briefs, assist with change management, and contribute to impactful presentations at key project stages.
  • Support Design Programmes: Help create design schedules, responsibility matrices, and project roadmaps.

What We’re Looking For

We’re seeking individuals ready to take their architectural career in a new direction, leveraging their existing skills to move into a strategic and management-focused role.

Key Requirements:

  • Experience: A minimum of 1 year post RIBA Part II experience or up to 4 years post-Part III experience as a recently qualified Architect.
  • Project Involvement: Experience with medium-to-large-scale projects (£25+ million) in a UK-based studio.
  • Software Skills: Proficiency in MS Office and Adobe CS. Familiarity with additional management software (MS Project) is advantageous, though training will be provided.
  • Understanding of Design Management: Knowledge of workflows, documentation, and client or consultant interaction, including examples of design programmes you’ve contributed to.
  • Communication: Strong organisation, collaboration and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Lead Consultant Experience (Desirable): Experience with lead consultancy roles, coordinating teams and client deliverables.

Immediate Growth

Begin 2025 with a career transformation. You’ll:

  • Work with experienced design managers on globally recognised projects.
  • Access extensive training opportunities and ongoing mentorship.
  • Enjoy a vibrant team culture that values innovation, collaboration, and growth.
  • Benefit from a competitive salary and perks designed to support your development.

This opportunity is uniquely supported by Grõ Careers, specialists in guiding architectural professionals through the transformative career shift into design/project management, with tailored insights and expertise to maximise your success.
