Senior Lighting Designer
Location: Southwark, Central London
Salary: £40,000 - £52,000 p/annum

An outstanding opportunity has become available for a Senior Lighting designer to join an internationally acclaimed lighting design consultancy that specializes in creating bespoke lighting solutions for prestigious projects across the globe. This role would be ideal for an experienced Senior Lighting Designer with a proven track record in hospitality and residential design or a Middleweight Lighting Designer ready to step up into a senior role.
Package:
Salary: £40,000 - £48,000 p/annum

Hours: 9:00am – 5:30pm
Location: Southwark, Central London
Duties:
Develop and present innovative lighting concepts from briefing to completion, ensuring precision in all design documentation.
Specify lighting products and prepare luminaire schedules and technical specifications.
Design lighting layouts and create detailed installation lighting designs.
Conduct lighting calculations and draft lighting control philosophies.
Manage project scopes from concept to construction, meeting deadlines with quality deliverables.
Oversee QA/QC processes and produce documentation for tender and construction stages.
Coordinate with clients, suppliers, and internal teams to maintain seamless communication and workflow.
Provide mentorship to junior designers and facilitate team collaboration.
Requirements:
4+ years of experience as a Lighting Designer in a design consultancy setting
Masters or Degree Qualified in Interior Design
Proficiency in Photoshop, AutoCAD, DIALux, and Bluebeam (Revit/BIM experience is advantageous but not essential)
Strong understanding of hospitality and residential lighting design principles
Ability to read and interpret 2D architectural drawings with excellent 3D spatial visualization skills
In-depth knowledge of luminaire manufacturing from technical and aesthetic perspectives
Excellent hand sketching skills and an eye for design
Fluency in English and the legal right to work in the UK without visa sponsorship
