Sous Chef -Department for Continuing Education

Oxford University Department for Continuing Education (OUDCE) is seeking to appoint a Sous Chef to assist the Head Chef and Deputy Head Chef to provide a consistently high standard of quality food for customers.
About the role
You will have the responsibility to oversee the preparation of food in the kitchen, providing quality meals and fine dining for events and private bookings. The main duties will include preparation of food, menu planning, supervision and training of staff.
About you
The Department for Continuing Education provides a wide variety of meals and dining for both students and external clients across its sites and provides an excellent opportunity to grow your culinary skills.
To succeed in this role, you will need to be professionally qualified with experience in a Sous Chef or Chef de Partie role within the hospitality industry. You should also have the following:
- Excellent culinary skills, with the ability to create menus for both daily catering and special events
- Good IT literacy including MS Excel and Word
- Flexibility and adaptability
- Good health and safety awareness, preferably with an Intermediate Food Hygiene Certificate.
The business operates throughout the week. You will work 5 days out of 7, with an average of 37.5 hours per week, and there will be no split shifts.
