Job Description
Location: 2700 Greens Road, Houston, Texas, 77032 (adjacent to George Bush Intercontinental Airport)
Abby's Catering has been providing one-of-a-kind culinary and hospitality experience since opening in 1980. Our customers are high profile passengers visiting or residing in Houston. Celebrities, government officials, head of states, secretaries, industry leaders, all traveling out of Houston aboard private, corporate, and commercial aircrafts are part of Abby's valued circle of customers. Abby's also provides exclusive gourmet delights for corporate offices, private and corporate events as well as food service management contracts.
Position:
Our Tray Set Up Associates ensure that Abby's food creations are a 'passport' to a culinary journey of cultural and diverse preferences. Innovation, trend setting menus, highest customer satisfaction is the signature of Abby's Catering. Our culinary team will make sure our customers enjoy an unforgettable dining experience while adhering to the highest food safety standards of the industry.
Reports to: Tray Set Up Supervisor
Essential functions:
Follow established rules of each unit for entry to building and work areas, properly attired and In compliance with HACCP/GMP guidelines for personal hygiene and observe security precautions as mandated by unit management

Requirements
Requirements, but not limited to: This position requires flexible work schedules within a 24/7 work environment. The airline catering industry is a seasonal business and certain peak times of the year are black out periods for PTO (paid time off), e.g. year end, summer. This position requires experience in providing the highest product quality, highest productivity output, and be able to comply with all food safety rules and regulations.
Qualifications
Be a self-starter
Able to work in a cold environment (38 F cold room) daily for an extended amount of time
Ability to work rotating shifts, including holidays, weekends, and overtime as needed
Bilingual English / Spanish (for verbal communication only)
Legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
Ability to read and interpret loading instructions, diagrams, and food menu specifications
Highly flexible and analytical, pro-active team player
Excellent knowledge of food and hygiene standards
Must hold a valid Food Protection Certificate, recognized by loacla authorities (e.g., SERV Safe).
Meticulous time management skills with the ultimate attention to detail
Airline Catering industry knowledge is a plus

Reports to: Tray Set Up Supervisor
Essential functions:
Follow established rules of each unit for entry to building and work areas, properly attired and In compliance with HACCP/GMP guidelines for personal hygiene and observe security precautions as mandated by unit management
- Read instructional charts or diagrams to determine amount and kind of foods and supplies to be packaged or assembled.
- Comply with all HACCP/GMP and proper food handling policies and procedures.
- Inspect dispensed items for contamination by foreign bodies.
- Properly return food for storage or dispose of unused food items or supplies to proper storage facility for future use with adherence to dating and rotation schedule.
- Remove pans or trays of portioned salads, desserts, rolls, cream, and other cold food items from refrigerator or pantry, and place at appropriate station for tray assembly counter/tables to facilitate assembly of meal trays.
- The employee is regularly exposed to extreme cold (35-40 Degrees)
