Advocate Health is seeking a skilled, board-certified cardiothoracic surgeon to lead our premier cardiac surgery program as Medical Director and serve patients at the Aurora St. Luke’s Medical Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

- Full time, experienced cardiothoracic surgeon to join our successful Cardiovascular Surgery Program and provide leadership to facilitate continued growth and programmatic excellence
- Aurora St. Luke's Medical Center is a 938-bed STS 3-star quaternary care facility in Milwaukee, providing innovative care to patients from the across the state and across the country
- Our program has consistently achieved an overall 3-star STS rating, most recently scoring a 3-star rating in all five domains
- In addition to maintaining a full-time surgical practice, as the Medical Director of the Cardiovascular Surgery Program, duties will include overall program development in conjunction with the Cardiovascular Service Line and hospital leadership, oversight of quality and safety measures to achieve optimal outcomes and maintain our 3-star STS rating, and leading a team of high quality cardiac and thoracic surgeons
- Outstanding variety of cases include minimally invasive mitral/aortic/tricuspid valve repair/replacement, aortic surgery including arch work with circulatory arrest, TAVR, TEVAR, LVAD insertion and heart transplantation
- Our team currently does approximately 2000 pump and pump standby cases annually and is the region's largest provider of complex cardiothoracic surgery: approximately 30-50 heart transplants per year, and 600+ trans catheter valve replacements
- Robust practice in structural heart, aortic surgery, and heart failure
- Excellent staff support includes APCs and RNs
- EPIC EMR
- Be part of an integrated nationally recognized organization with physician-led medical group and embedded service line
- Leverage access to DAX Copilot, an AI-powered clinical documentation tool integrated with Epic, streamlining clinical workflows by generating draft patient notes for efficient review, editing, and signature
- Experience a diverse and inclusive environment ensuring safe and equitable care for all patients
Training and/or experience required
- Must have completed an accredited cardiothoracic surgery program
- Facile in all areas of adult cardiac surgery
- Minimumof 5 years practice experience
- Demonstrated leadership success within a high-volume, high-quality cardiothoracic surgery program
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills
- Special consideration given to those with experience and expertise in total arterial revascularization/off pump CABG, arrhythmia surgery, and/or heart transplantation.
