Quantity Surveyor - Fit-out & Refurbishment
Southampton - South East
£60,000 - £70,000

One of my standout candidates is looking for a Quantity Surveyor to join their team due to exciting expansion within the company. My client specializes in creating high-spec interior spaces across various sectors, including offices, leisure, hospitality, and high-end residential. About the role:
As a Quantity Surveyor, your time will be split between the office (based just outside Southampton), on-site, or working from home. Most of my client's work is in the South East of the UK, with projects in and around London.
You will oversee subcontractor selection, valuations, payments, and financial control to meet or exceed target margins. You will prepare and manage client applications, invoices, and cashflow reporting. Additionally, you will drive value engineering opportunities, cost forecasting, and CVR reconciliation.
Building and maintaining relationships with consultants, architects, suppliers, and subcontractors to enhance business and supply chain diversity is essential. You will ensure compliance with contracts, manage project changes, and attend site meetings. Furthermore, you will continuously improve practices, mentor project finance teams, and conduct feasibility studies to align client requirements with practical project execution.
Rewards and Benefits:

Requirements:
* Degree or HNC/HND educated in Surveying
* A professional qualification accredited by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors
* Five years of experience in a Pre-Contracts background or as a Contracts Manager/Quantity Surveyor, preferably in commercial design & build fit-out
* Proven experience in cost planning with the skill set to value-engineer a design
* Solid working knowledge of construction
* Successful track record of yielding high profits
* Creative and innovative approach to problem-solving
* Excellent relationship-building and interpersonal skills
* Team-focused and able to communicate effectively across all levels
* Strong negotiation skills with commercial awareness
* Attention to detail and a methodical approach to work
* Well-organised with good time management skills
* Excellent numerical skills
* Good knowledge of mechanical and electrical disciplines
• A good knowledge of JCT contracts & current building regulations
• A clear understanding of HSE Building Regulations and legal guidelines
• Full and ideally clean driving licence
• Proficient in Microsoft Office 365
