Job Description
Opportunities, inside IR35 exists for experienced Civil Engineering CREs, on a major rail project in West Yorkshire. CREs with previous experience gained with a principal or tier one contractor preferably major rail joint ventures, are sought.
Duties of the CRE will include -
Work in conjunction/ collaboration with the design and assurance teams to ensure that constructability is adequately incorporated in all the designs.
Accountability for the day-to-day management and co-ordination of the technical and engineering activities for construction works in accordance with Network Rail standards.
Responsible for the adequate identification and elimination/mitigation of hazards in the construction phase.
Exemplify behaviours including collaborating with partners.
Ensuring works are implemented accordance with the design, project requirements, standards and legislation, industry best practise and lessons learnt, outputs from risk assessment processes including the incorporation of identified mitigation/ control measures to eliminate / reduce hazards.
Implementation and compliance with the construction processes.
Provide engineering input to the project’s delivery and staging strategy.
Work closely with the other support functions on a day-to-day basis providing support as required. Including Design, Procurement, Commercial, Estimating, Engineering and Assurance and Planning.
Provide support and technical advice.
Requirements for this role include –
Preferably a civil Engineering qualification and professional registration
Extensive knowledge and experience within the heavy civil engineering sector for a tier one/principal civil engineering contractor
Senior management and reporting capability
Extensive experience within the Network rail and civil engineering sector
Previous long-term affiliation on Joint Venture projects
