Job Description

Involved in all dredging and offshore projects worldwide, the survey department is responsible for the organisation of all hydrographic and topographic measurements in all phases of the works. We are looking for a Chief Surveyor who will be responsible for all survey activities on board. Are you able to lead the team of surveyors?

Your responsibilities

  1. You manage and coach the survey team on board, providing guidance and support.
  2. You drive continuous improvement in survey operations by optimizing productivity and efficiency.
  3. You maintain transparent and effective communication with key project stakeholders: Project Management, Client representatives, Vessel master, and crew.
  4. You meticulously monitor the progress and quality of the works by using survey equipment and software.
  5. You ensure the timely production of survey deliverables, consistently meeting the highest quality standards.
  6. You are a key member of the vessel team with Captain, Chief Engineer & OIM to ensure project success.

Your profile

  1. You hold a diploma related to hydrographic surveying, geophysics, geology, engineering, or equivalent by experience.
  2. You have a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in the survey industry.
  3. You have strong technical knowledge of survey operations, techniques, and software.
  4. You have good practical sense and ability to work in challenging and remote conditions.
  5. You have good communication skills and are able to take a critical view towards the works to be carried out.
  6. You are fluent in verbal and written English; knowledge of any other language is an asset.
  7. You have excellent attention to detail, quality, and safety.
  8. You have a natural ability to empower and motivate other team members, such as junior surveyors.
  9. You are willing to work on board one of our vessels for extended periods (rotational schedule of 1:1 for offshore activities or 2:1 for dredging activities).
