Part-Time Chaplain Position Summary
The Part-Time Chaplain provides pastoral care to patients, family, and staff persons. The Chaplain conducts spiritual assessments and provides therapeutic support through spiritual and religious interventions and provides professional Pastoral Care and Counseling according to the Standards for Certified Chaplain, College of Pastoral Supervisor and Psychotherapy. Pastoral Care and Counseling is available to patients, family, and staff. This position adheres to all Medical Center policies and procedures. The Chaplain has no less than four units of Clinical Pastoral Education and it is strongly recommended that the Chaplain be certified and in good standing with a pastoral care cognate group recognized by Commission/JCAPS, or is actively seeking certification.
Part-Time Chaplain Position Requirements
Education
- A level of theological education consistent with the requirements of the chaplain’s denomination.
- Ecclesiastical endorsement for hospital ministry.
- Completion of four units of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE),
- Willing to undergo CPE Supervisory Training, has a well-developed sense of his/her gifts and calling to be a CPE Supervisor.
Experience
- Willing to undergo CPE Supervisory Training, has a well-developed sense of his/her gifts and calling to be a CPE Supervisor.
Part-Time Chaplain Work Schedule
- On-call
Part-Time Chaplain Benefits
- At TidalHealth, team members working at least 36 hours per pay period based on 12-hour shift schedules or at least 37.5 hours for non 12-hour shift schedules and part-time team members working at least 30 hours or more on weekends only are eligible for benefits.
