Job Description

At Glenelg Support, we provide exceptional care for individuals with autism, learning disabilities, physical disabilities, and mental health needs in a supported living environment. We pride ourselves on working closely with both individuals and their families to develop personalized support plans that make a real difference in peoples lives.

We are currently looking for dedicated and compassionate Female Support Workers to join our team in St Helens. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who share our core values and have the skills to support those in need.

Daily responsibilities could range from cooking the dinner, supervising watching musicals, taking a ride in the car with a packed lunch, or facilitating pamper time with mini facials and nail painting.

You will also coordinate and attend appointments related to health and housing needs, support with medication administration, and help our individuals engage with the community through activities they enjoy.

Some homes require Female candidates only as this is indicated under occupational requirement in accordance with the Equality Act 2010

Key Requirements:

Experience:

  • Understanding and experience working with autism and complex behaviours.
  • Previous experience in a specialist autism setting.
  • Knowledge of autism-specific approaches to communication, learning, and positive behaviour support.
  • Experience of Epilepsy would be advantageous.
  • Experience working closely with families in a support capacity.
  • Ability to handle a variety of tasks with flexibility and initiative.

Required:

  • A full, clean, UK/EU driving license is needed for this position, to be successful you would need to hold a licence that enables you to drive a manual vehicle, and be confident in driving a mobility vehicle.
