Kitchen Assistant

Swanstaff Ltd are seeking a dedicated and hardworking Kitchen Assistant to join one of our care homes in Colchester The successful candidate will play a vital role in maintaining the smooth operation of our kitchen, ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and food preparation to support the well-being of our residents.
Responsibilities
* Assist in the preparation and serving of meals in accordance with dietary requirements and preferences.
* Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, including washing dishes, cleaning surfaces, and managing waste.
* Follow food hygiene and safety guidelines at all times.
* Support the kitchen team with basic food preparation, such as peeling, chopping, and portioning ingredients.
* Ensure all equipment is cleaned and stored properly after use.
* Monitor stock levels and inform the cook/chef of any shortages.
* Adhere to the care home’s policies and procedures, particularly regarding resident dignity and confidentiality.
