The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in our organization, overseeing all financial operations and strategies. Responsibilities:
1. Oversee all company accounting practices, including accounting departments, preparing budgets, financial reports, tax and audit functions.
2. Direct financial strategy, planning and forecasts; conferring with President, COO and Board of Directors.
3. Study, analyze and report on trends, opportunities for expansion and projection of future company growth.
4. Direct the preparation of all financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, reports to shareholders, tax returns, and reports for government regulatory agencies.
5. Oversee the investment of funds and manage associated risks, supervise cash management activities, execute capital-raising strategies to support a firm's expansion, and deal with mergers and acquisitions.
6. Conduct review and evaluation for cost-reduction opportunities.
7. Develop and implement finance, accounting, billing, and auditing procedures.
8. Establish and maintain appropriate internal control safeguards.
9. Interact with other managers to provide consultative support to planning initiatives through financial and management information analyses, reports, and recommendations.
10. Ensure records systems are maintained in accordance with generally accepted auditing standards.
11. Develop and direct the implementation of strategic business and/or operational plans, projects, programs, and systems.
Qualifications:
1. A minimum of 5+ years of experience in a CFO or equivalent role, preferably within the Real Estate sector.
2. CPA or MBA strongly preferred.
3. Proven experience in financial planning and analysis, managing working capital, financial statements, and reporting to the board.
4. Extensive experience in internal and external audit, monthly reporting, cash flow, and financial management.
5. Strong analytical skills and experience interpreting a strategic vision into an operational model.
6. An effective communicator at all levels in the organization, with strong oral and written skills and a willingness to share information.
7. A collaborative and flexible style, with a strong service mentality.
8. Creative, with experience funding activities in ways that both cover costs and generate operating margins.
9. Excellent judgment and creative problem-solving skills, including negotiation and conflict resolution.
10. Exceptional ethical standards and the ability to create a positive and healthy work environment.
11. Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other financial planning software.
12. Ability to travel as required.
