Job Summary
The Special Projects Coordinator will assist the Program Manager of the Center for Academic Success (CAS) in managing the Outreach Assistant Team, supporting coverage for the centers (Edgewater & Laker Hall), and assisting with marketing efforts for the Center for Academic Success (CAS) workshops and services. In addition to overseeing outreach activities, this individual will help maintain smooth daily operations across both CAS locations may occasionally lead workshops or class visits as needed.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
1. Outreach Assistant Management & Center Operations (35%):
* Supervise the Outreach Assistant team, ensuring they effectively promote CAS services.
* Help manage shift coverage for Front Desk & Outreach Assistants across Edgewater Hall and Laker Hall locations to ensure the centers are adequately staffed.
* Support the Center Supervisor/Program Manager in maintaining a welcoming and efficient environment in both centers.
2. Marketing & Promotion (25%):
* Collaborate with the Program Manager to develop and execute creative marketing strategies to increase student awareness of CAS workshops and services.
* Create and distribute promotional materials, including flyers, emails, and social media posts, to engage and inform students.
* Collaborate with CAS staff, faculty, and campus organizations to maximize outreach and participation in academic support programs.
3. Student Engagement & Monitoring (25%):
* Monitor student engagement and enforce center policies at both the Edgewater Hall and Laker Hall locations.
* Address student concerns or behavioral issues promptly and professionally, escalating more serious issues to the Center Supervisor when necessary.
* Foster an inclusive and supportive environment that encourages student participation and academic success.
3. Workshop & Class Visit Coordination (10%):
* Assist the Center Supervisor in organizing and delivering CAS workshops and class visits (as needed).
* Step in to lead workshops, presentations, and class visits when needed, ensuring professional delivery of content.
* Gather feedback from attendees and faculty to improve the effectiveness of CAS events and outreach initiatives.
5. Reporting & Communication (5%):
* Assist in tracking student engagement and workshop participation, compiling data for reports to the Center Supervisor and CAS leadership.
* Collaborate with other CAS staff and campus departments to improve outreach strategies and center services.
Required Qualifications
Qualifications:
* Experience managing teams and working in a collaborative environment.
* Strong marketing, communication, and social media skills, with experience creating engaging promotional materials.
* Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage operations across multiple locations.
Preferred Skills:
* Pursuing Bachelor¿s degree in marketing, communications, education, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
* Experience working with marketing or promotion.
* Familiarity with student engagement platforms and data analysis tools.
* Leadership experience in managing a team.
Work Schedule:
This position may require occasional evening hours to accommodate center operations or events.
